Happy New Year, Everyone! Already one week into 2013 and I can feel a fresh start taking its course :)

This year, not only do I have to learn to adjust to the freezing temperatures of Boston, but I also have to learn how to better budget my money & time for things other than shopping - ie. less shopping sprees & more cooking at home. (Snuck those resolutions in there hehe.)

What better way to start anew than with something old and something blue?

I found this shirt dress at Bricklane Market a few years ago in London. The booth I stopped at had tons of shirt dresses that were sewn from oversized silk shirts. The intricate nautical pattern on this one caught my eye and the short sleeves make the shirt extremely easy to pair across all seasons. With a blazer & my new nude flats (I finally bought a pair!), I was ready to tackle the first Monday morning of 2013.

It's amazing what a blazer can do to an outfit - it can change an outfit from day to night, date to bar scene, and church to brunch. Blazers add structure, class, and the added bonus: warmth! When it comes to finding the right blazer, start with a comfortable fabric and timeless fit that cinches you at your natural waist. I would suggest investing in the three classic colors: black, navy & beige. Anything beyond that is up to you! Personally I think one or two trend blazers are worth investing in as well if you're up for the challenge of making them work with your changing wardrobe over the years.

2012 was a great year filled with challenges, accomplishments, some disappointment & many celebrations.

I know that God has many more blessings in store for us in 2013!
