Park West Tavern holds a special place in my heart, not for any other reason but the location. When I was growing up, this restaurant used to be Cafe Winberie - aka the place where I discovered the glory of chocolate fondue. I spent a lot of fun nights here eating fondue and listening to live jazz with friends (& high school boyfriends… hehe.) Since opening its doors in November 2011, Park West Tavern has updated the interior and menu, offering more elevated dishes in a casual atmosphere.

Although a part of me really wanted chocolate fondue, I forgot all about it when I had the Kobe Beef Sliders. I am not a big burger person but if there is a Kobe Beef slider on a menu, I will almost always order it. The meat was seasoned well and cooked medium, the cheese was melted evenly over the patty, and the toasted brioche bun added the perfect crunch.

Vegetable Frittata |
For brunch, I opted for the Vegetable Frittata. The portion size was decent enough for me to eat ¾ of the frittata. I loved that the frittata itself wasn't too salty and it was the parmesan cheese that added a salty kick to the dish. My favorite part was the hen of the woods mushrooms!

Corned Beef Hash, Poached Egg, Holl |
This second dish was a bit disappointing after the Kobe beef sliders. The corned beef hash was a bit bland, following the well seasoned beef. I guess corned beef hash is one of those foods that taste their best when ordered at a greasy diner.
All in all, Park West Tavern is a great location for a family brunch or a casual drink with friends at the end of a long week. Even with the new makeover, it makes me feel at home. If you're still looking for Mother's Day brunch options, this may be a great place to check out!
I hope you all enjoy your Mother's Days with your families!
love, MH<3
